According to WGRZ, the state has issued its guidelines for professional sporting events and no fans will be allowed at games.

The reopening guidelines state that:

"No live audience, fans, or spectators are allowed to attend or permitted to enter any professional sports venue, even if an outdoor venue."

It's important to note that it specifies these guidelines at the time of publication, which could be subject to change, as Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz pointed out as well.

Also, no fans will be allowed to congregate outside the sporting venue and will be removed if doing so.

As for on-the-field, social distancing guidelines would remain in place for all team and league staff, and face masks must be worn unless athletes/players are active in play.

A limited number of staff and essential personnel would be allowed on-site at sporting events.

These guidelines do not apply to collegiate sporting events.
