It seems strange that just a few weeks ago people were scrambling to find the vaccine, now there are clinics popping up everywhere...and some are even offering incentives.

Vaccine Incentives Seem to be Everywhere

You may have heard about all the different places that are offering incentives for people who get vaccinated against COVID-19.  Erie County is running its "Shot and a Chaser" program and that seems to be going well.  Hamburg Brewing is offering free beer with your vaccine.  Darien Lake is even offering tickets to come to Six Flags Darien Lake this summer if you come to their clinic.

Batavia Downs Is The Most Recent To Offer An Incentive

According to WKBW, Batavia Downs is jumping in the mix to offer an incentive to come there and get your vaccine.  They're going to hold a vaccination clinic along with the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments on Friday (5/14) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Park Place Events Center.  If you stop there to get your vaccination, they will give a $20 voucher for food and drink at Batavia Downs redeemable any time within a week to people who get vaccinated. Those people will also receive two entries into a drawing for a pair of front row tickets to all 12 Rockin' The Downs summer concerts.

Why are they offering incentives?

Henry Wojtaszek, President and CEO of Batavia Downs says, "In order to put the threat of COVID-19 behind us, we need to get as many people vaccinated as possible.  Getting vaccinated will help us & our region get back to normal, allow for local businesses to welcome back more customers and get our economy moving again.”
