The Buffalo Bills have scouts and front office personnel at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, as they try to evaluate the senior players who will be entering the NFL Draft this year.

The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at the end of February and then free agency starts in mid-March. It will be a very busy next few months for general manager Brandon Beane and his staff.

The Bills did make a coaching staff move after their AFC Divisional round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, letting go safeties coach Jim Salgado, who had been on head coach Sean McDermott's staff since 2017.

On Thursday morning, the Bills filled that position.

The team announced they have hired Joe Danna as their new safeties coach. He was most recently the safeties coach for the Houston Texans and before that, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Some Bills fans have been clamoring for changes with the offensive and/or defensive coordinator positions, but it appears very unlikely to happen since Ken Dorsey and Leslie Frazier will probably be present at the combine with Beane and McDermott.

As for the safety position, that could be a major need for the Bills.

Jordan Poyer is going to be a free agent in March and we don't know what the future holds for Damar Hamlin's playing career. Micah Hyde is over 30 and coming off neck surgery.

Drafting a safety and/or signing one in free agency, for a lesser price than Poyer, might be what the Bills decide to do with that position.
