A week after we have some very mild conditions across Western New York, where we saw most of the snow melt, the first major snowstorm of 2026 is set to impact all of Western New York this week

Winter Storm Warning Issued In Western New York

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Western New York from Monday until Wednesday afternoon. During the next 72 hours, some places in the 716 could see over two feet of snow.

A lake effect band of snow is moving from the northern part of the region down to the Southtowns and Southern Tier this week, dropping plenty of snow along the way.


Dangeerous Wind Chills Expected Across Western New York

Along with plenty of snow, this latest snowstorm will bring some very gusty winds across the 716. With that win, wind chills will drop into the negatives overnight tonight into Tuesday morning. Some places in Western New York could see wind chills as cold as -15.

Due to the potential snowfall, officials in Erie County have issued a travel advisory for the entire county.
