It was disappointing news when we heard about the Thunder of Niagara Air Show getting canceled this June, due to COVID-19 and the lack of guidance to hold the event. That was just a few weeks ago. Now, there will be an air show and it's coming to the City of Buffalo this summer.

According to WGRZ, the event is moving to the Buffalo Waterfront this Father's Day Weekend.

What's awesome about this new version of the Air Show is the fact it will be held at the Buffalo Waterfront, so we can expect to see practice flights from the Blue Angels over Lake Erie. Yes, the Blue Angels will be flying over the City of Buffalo and Lake Erie. That sounds incredible.

The event was announced at a press conference this morning in Buffalo by event organizers as the media heard the news live.

My dad took me to the air show when I was a kid and I was mesmerized. It's such an amazing event and the video doesn't do justice to just how fast and loud those jets are when they're flying by you.

It's also great to walk inside the aircrafts and get an insight into how they put on the show and what goes into being a pilot.

Event organizers hope this will be a benchmark for other events in Western New York, as COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.
