It looks like Mother Nature just realized that it is January in Western New York and is set to dump some of the winter stuff on the area tonight and for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of the Southern Tier. But, we are expected to see snow almost everywhere in Western New York!

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations
  of 6 to 12 inches possible in the most persistent lake snows,
  with greatest amounts expected along the Chautauqua Ridge.
  Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie
  counties.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Thursday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of
  blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
  commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Narrow bands of heavy snow could impact portions of the region.
Localized travel problems will be possible.
