Wow, what a cool story.

Two best friends, Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis, had a message they put out on a few piece of cardboard and stuck in the front lawn, welcoming people to come stop out and have a beer with them in the driveway.

One sign read: "Black or white"

The other one read: "Relax and have a beer"

News 8 WROC, a CBS affiliate in Rochester NY, aired the story last week, and it went viral. Per reporter Dan Gross of WROC, the story reached country music star Brad Paisley, which led to a truly unique encounter. Paisley called the friends on Zoom to discuss:

“Man, I am so thrilled to meet you, face to face like this,” Paisley said. “I’m so inspired by you, and we thought we should deliver more beer than you could possibly drink… This is going to be a popular destination on this street.”

Of course, he had to play his new song for his new friends as well, "No I in Beer".

In addition to the face-to-face call, Paisley sent the friends hundreds of dollars worth of beer, which he had shipped to their house prior to the Zoom call. In fact, per reporter Dan Gross of WROC, Paisley bought out everything at AJ's Beer Warehouse in Henrietta.
