Summer weather means getting out and enjoying the beauty, food, and history of our great city. Buffalo has such a rich, unique background and there are many bike tours that offer an up-close-and-personal opportunity to soak it all in. There are history tours, food tours, and tours that combine both. Here are 5 bike tours to check out this summer.

Slow Roll Buffalo offers weekly tours through the various neighborhoods in Buffalo. It's a great opportunity to get to know the city and meet new people. It's free to join in the rides, which take place on Mondays, starting at 6:30 pm. The meeting places change based on the rides. The 2022 schedule has recently been released and you can check it out here.

As one of the world’s largest free community bike rides, Slow Roll Buffalo’s mission is to provide inclusive experiences by bicycle that connect communities and promote public health. Founded in 2014 by non-profit volunteers, Slow Roll Buffalo connects communities through guided rides for bicyclists of all ages and skill levels. More than just a bike ride, it is a vehicle to bring people from all walks of life together and reconnect our community. Our many generous community partners help to keep Slow Roll Buffalo free for all.

2. Buffalo Bike Tours

I had the opportunity to join a Buffalo Bike Tours ride. Marc Moscato, the founder and tour guide of Buffalo Bike Tours, led the way. We were joined by a family and a couple of guys visiting from Toronto. Even though it was raining and we were soaked, I really enjoyed it. I felt like a tourist in Buffalo, learning new things about the history of the city.

Buffalo Bike Tours leads food tours, history tours, and sightseeing tours. Sample the best chicken wings, learn our amazing history, or take out one of our bike rentals.

The SkyRide will take place this year on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

The registration cost for the SkyRide 2022 is:
$40 - Regular Registration
$32 - Member Registration
$35 (Member $28) - In-person during the month of May
$20 - Youth (Ages 5-17) Registration

The ride will start and end at the Outer Harbor Lakeside Bike Park (825 Fuhrmann Boulevard). From the Bike Park, we’ll go down Fuhrmann to Tifft, to Hopkins, loop South Park, back to Hopkins, Tifft, and Fuhrmann. This will spread out the crowd a bit before everyone begins their charge on the Skyway. Go up, down, loop around on Eagle Street downtown, and do it all over again on your way back to the Outer Harbor.

If riding with a couple of your friends isn't enough, then you might want to try a Party Bike. Buffalo Pedal Tours offers a private party bike that you can ride throughout the city with up to 14 of your closest friends. It offers architecture, bar crawl, and other tours. You can get more info here.

5. Buffalo CycleBoat

This is a hybrid between a bicycle and a boat. Up to 16 people can be on the boat, but there are only 10 pedal stations. You can book a private tour for larger groups or grab a few seats with friends on a public tour.

Our custom built cycleboat is powered by a large paddle wheel, allowing passengers to pedal together as you sail listening to your favorite music. Want to Dance? Absolutely, each boat is also powered by a motor, in case you want to burn those calories dancing instead of pedaling.

You can book a tour and get more info here.
