The news came through this morning that the Buffalo Bills were working on a trade to bring DJ Moore to Buffalo from the Chicago Bears. Here's what the Bills are giving up to make it happen.

The Buffalo Bills are trading for DJ Moore

When the news broke, most of the people sharing it were saying that the Bills would be getting wide receiver DJ Moore from the Bears for "a mid-round pick."

It appears the Bills are giving up more than that.

Here's what the Bills are giving up

According to Adam Schefter, the Bills will be getting DJ Moore and a 5th round pick. However, they're also giving up a 2026 2nd round pick for him.

To put that into perspective for some people. Other players that the Buffalo Bills have been able to grab in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft over the last couple of years are players like running back James Cook, offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence, and safety Cole Bishop.

So while the Bills are getting a draft pick back in the swap, Beane has been pretty productive in the 2nd round of the draft over the past couple of years.

Was this a good trade for the Bills?

Some are saying that Josh Allen will now have a reliable #1 receiver in DJ Moore. He has 4 seasons where he was able to eclipse the 1000-yard mark in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023. He was close in 2024.  Last season was his worst year when it comes to receiving yards, with only 682 on 50 receptions. However, the Bears also had Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III catching passes at the same time.  It was almost as if they had an "everybody eats" mantra there too.

By the way, Moore's offensive coordinator in the years when he had the 1000-yard seasons...was Joe Brady, who is now the head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

Time will tell how good of a trade it is. What do you think?
