The Buffalo Bills Have Fired Sean McDermott
In what many would consider a shocking move, the Buffalo Bills are moving on from head coach Sean McDermott after 9 seasons.
The Buffalo Bills are moving on from Sean McDermott
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Buffalo Bills have fired Sean McDermott today.
McDermott became the head coach of the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 season and has been credited with changing the culture of this team. He was the coach who helped to end the playoff drought that lasted for 17 years in Buffalo.
Why did they fire him?
The Bills have been in the playoffs every single year that McDermott has coached in Buffalo, but has never been able to "get over the hump" even with Josh Allen under center. He's had 9 seasons to get it done and hasn't been able to achieve that goal. That had to be a huge reason why they've decided to move on.
The Bills now have one of the most coveted coaching positions available
Now, you have to wonder where they will go from here. Is there a coach that they have their eye on? Is it too late to fire your head coach? Many of the coaches who were fired after the end of the regular season have already agreed to terms with other teams.
Where will McDermott go now? Is Pittsburgh his next stop?
The Buffalo Bills still have Josh Allen, and that's going to be a huge reason why a lot of coaches will want to come to Western New York. It really is going ot be a brand new chapter for this team as they move into a new building with a brand new head coach, and you'd imagine a new coaching staff.
