The offseason is in full swing for the Buffalo Bills. The big date for fans to remember will be March 16th, which is when free agency begins. The Bills could use help at positions like cornerback, offensive line, pass rush, and wide receiver. Adding a running back wouldn't hurt either.

However, the coaching landscape still isn't finalized for the Bills and general manager Brandon Beane.

The Bills lost assistant general manager Joe Schoen, who became the New York Giants general manager. They also lost offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and offensive line coach Bobby Johnson to the Giants. Daboll became the NYG new head coach, while Johnson's move is lateral, becoming the new offensive line coach for the Giants.

The Bills promoted quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Ken Dorsey to offensive coordinator and brought in former Carolina Panthers and LSU offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, as their new quarterbacks coach.

The Bills also hired Aaron Kromer as the team's new offensive line coach, the same position he held for the Bills from 2015-2016.

On Wednesday, however, the Bills lost another member of the coaching staff.

According to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissaro, Bills special teams coach Heath Farwell, is leaving Buffalo to become the new special teams coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Farwell was a special teams ace and backup linebacker in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, from 2005-2014.

Farwell led a good special teams group in Buffalo the last three seasons, but fans are left wondering if this is because of what happened at the end of the AFC Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs, when the Bills decided to kick deep, instead of letting the Chiefs field the kickoff, or squib kicking it.

Head coach Sean McDermott should also take responsibility for that sequence, since any decision of that magnitude, at that given moment of the game, always is okayed and decided upon by the head coach.

Soon after the news of Farwell, the Bills announced they have promoted Matthew Smiley as the team's new special teams coordinator. Smiley has been an assistant special teams coach since 2017 in Buffalo.
