On Tuesday, the Bill announced that backup quarterback Jack Fromm was signed by the New York Giants from the Bills practice squad.

Fromm was a 5th round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 NFL draft. He saw very limited action with the Bills during the pre-season and never saw any playing time during the regular season with the Bills.

Fromm was the COVID-19 emergency QB for the Bills last season and was signed to the practice squad at the end of training camp this season.

By signing with the New York Giants from the practice squad, Fromm is guaranteed to be part of the game-day roster for the Giants. The Giants were in need of a quarterback after their starter Daniel Jones was injured with a neck strain and is expected to be out at least for this Sunday's game against Miami.

Fromm was a star in College playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. In three seasons, Fromm threw for over 8000 yards, had 78 touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 156.1.

He left Georgia after his junior year and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. He became the odd man out after the Bills signed former 1st round draft pick Mitch Trubisky in the off-season. Trubisky has been the backup to Josh Allen this season and has seen some limited action so far this year.

Up next for the Buffalo Bills is a battle for the top spot of the AFC East. They play host to the New England Patriots on Monday night with the Pats holding a half-game lead over the Bills for the AFC East crown.
