There have been five "mass shootings" in Buffalo, NY, since 2012, according to Gun Violence Archive, a  not for profit corporation formed in 2013 to provide free online public access to accurate information about gun-related violence in the United States.

In the wake of the Orlando nightclub shooting, Vox Media put together a post on mass shootings in the U.S. in recent years. Since the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut where 26 were killed, there have been 998 mass shootings, according to Vox Media.

Shooters have killed at least 1,105 people and wounded nearly 4,000, according to Gun Violence Archive via Vox Media.

Since the Sandy Hook shooting, there have been five "mass shootings" in Buffalo, according to Gun Violence Archive, when a mass shooting is defined as a shooting at a public place in which the shooter murdered/injured four or more people. For some this definition is considered too broad as it may also include domestic, gang and drug-related shootings, which are not thought of as mass shootings in layman's terms.

Sunday morning a gunman opened fire inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, killing approximately 50 people and injuring at least 53 more, making the shooting the most deadly mass shooting in U.S. history.

On May 4, 2015, in Buffalo, NY, one was killed and three were wounded.
Four teenagers were shot on the first block of Roosevelt Avenue, according to Buffalo News.

On August 12, 2014, one was killed and three were wounded in Buffalo, NY.
On the Oakmont Avenue footbridge over Route 33 four male teenagers were shot. One was declared dead at the scene.

October 5, 2013, four were wounded in Buffalo, NY.
Four men attending a birthday party on Zelmer Street were fired on from across the street, according to Buffalo News.

July 6, 2014, four were wounded in Buffalo.
A shooter opened fire on four ment in the 100 block of Erb Street, according to WIVB.

June 6, 2015, one was killed and four were wounded in Buffalo.
The incident took place on Warren Avenue between Memorial Drive and Broadway on Buffalo's East Side, according to Buffalo News.
