If you have a musician in your family, they are going to want to see the new exhibit coming to the Buffalo Museum of Science.  It's all about the guitar.

When most people think about guitars, they're just the things that their favorite stars strap around their neck to make them look good.  But there are so many kinds of guitars that can play so many different genres of music!  And they're going to be on display at the Buffalo Museum of Science in an exhibit they call "Medieval to Metal: The Art and Evolution of the Guitar."  Its an exhibit that celebrates the technological advancements and artistic developments of the guitar.

Not many people really think of guitars (or any musical instruments) in terms of science, but they are all about science.  When you think of the sound waves created and the physics involved, there's a lot to digest when it comes to music.

"Guitars-they are incredibly exciting and engaging. They have so many stories to tell and so much science to communicate" - Marisa Wigglesworth, director of the Buffalo Museum of Science.

According to Mike Randall at WKBW there will be about forty instruments represented there including the first electric guitar from Hawaii and an old string instrument made from an armadillo.

The new exhibit opens up on Saturday and it doesn't say how long it will stay.  So get your tickets today!
