Buffalo TV Station Pokes Fun at The “New York” Jets [PHOTO]
The Buffalo Bills are getting ready to wrap up the 2021 regular season schedule against division rival, the New York Jets on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. It's the first time the Jets have played in Orchard Park since week 1 of the 2020 regular season.
The Bills are looking to wrap up the AFC East division with a win, but can also do so with a loss by the New England Patriots to the Miami Dolphins.
In case you haven't heard, a lot has been made about the fact the Jets (and the Giants for that matter) are called the New York Jets, even though they play their home games in New Jersey. Many Bills fans have joked that Buffalo is New York's only NFL team.
WGRZ reporter and meteorologist Kevin O'Neill, had some fun with the Jets matchup with the Bills on Sunday.
They used "New Jersey Jets" instead of New York Jets for their weather graphic for the game on Sunday.
The weather, by the way, doesn't look pretty with rain, snow and 30 mph wind gusts.
This is during the news of an actual lawsuit that is suing the Jets and Giants for playing in New Jersey, despite being called "New York."
This might be the small payback for New York City residents always calling Buffalo and Western New York, "Upstate New York" for so many years, and still call us upstate New York, so having some fun with the "New Jersey Jets" is okay by me.
