If your empty bottle and cans have been piling up, this weekend you can turn those cans into cash to help Make-A-Wish Western New York.

This Saturday, April 24th, you can drop off your empty bottle and cans at Shell Fab Countertops & Casework in West Seneca. Those bottles and cans will then be turned in with the money be donated to Make-A-Wish Western New York.

The can drive is part of a fundraising effort by Wish Heroes Tony & Sydney Mastrangelo, who decided to turn a personal tragedy in their life into a chance to give back to their community.

Tony and Sydney decided to become Wish Heroes after they learned they lost their child to a miscarriage. Now they are focused on helping Make-A-Wish Western New York grant wishes to kids in the Western New York area.

This Saturday you can drop off your old bottles and cans at Shell Fab between 9 am and 2 pm. Shell Fab is located at 3260 Clinton Street in West Seneca.

This can drive is just part of Tony and Sydney's goal of raising enough money to grant one wish for a child in Western New York.

On average the cost of granting a wish is $10,000 per child with Make-A-Wish Western New York. Make-A-Wish Western New York works with area families to help grant wishes of children who are battling terminal illnesses.

If you can't make the can drive this weekend and still want to help Tony and Sydney make their goal, you can make a monetary donation online.
