Charlie Daniels Talks Guns, God and Skynyrd with Clay Moden
Charlie Daniels is getting ready to celebrate another birthday on October 28th. The legendary country rocker and fiddle genius is STILL on tour at 80 years old and, judging by our conversation, he's not ready to slow down just yet.
I spoke with Charlie Daniels on the 40th anniversary of the plane crash that took the life of a few members of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Charlie was good friends with many of them and you can hear in his voice that eh still can recall hearing the news.
These days, Charlie Daniels has also found a home on social media. There is no mistaking Daniels' patriotism and love for The USA. As a matter of fact, Charlie Daniels has been often called out on what some consider "controversial" Tweets about government. Still, there is no denying that he is one of the few celebrities that openly back the police, the military and above all, God.
Speaking with Daniels is always one of my favorite things to do as a radio guy. He is one of the most comfortable and relaxed guys you could ever ask to interview.
Charlie Daniels will play at del Lago Casino on November 17.
