WARNING: Child Cups Being Recalled In New York

You should double-check your child's drinking cup this morning.

There has been a massive recall of stainless steel children’s cups because these cups violate the Federal Lead Content ban. The recall was issued on November 16th and affects a couple of hundred units.

The cups that are being recalled were sold nationwide and across New York exclusively at Amazon.com by LAOION.

The issue with the cups is that the bottom exterior of the cup has a solder bead that could be accessible by a child, and that bead has a higher than allowed amount of lead according to the Federal lead content ban.

If lead is ingested by children, it could cause adverse health effects.

The effects of lead poisoning include high blood pressure, along with brain, kidney, and reproductive issues.

Some of the symptoms of lead poisoning include headaches, stomach cramps, constipation, muscle/joint pain, trouble sleeping, and more.

If you purchased one of these cups, you are advised to take it away immediately from your child and send it back to Amazon for a full refund. You should be able to return the item using your Amazon account.

The good news is that there have been no reports of any children getting sick or being hospitalized due to lead poisoning associated with the stainless steel cups.
