WATCH: Save Your Car! Don’t Make This Dumb Mistake
Every now and then, you make a move you think is a good idea and realize it was just plain dumb! These are the times when you have to remind yourself to slow down, and relax.
The spring weather is here and after the long winter we have had here in New York State, it feels good to get the family outside without heavy coats, gloves and hats! With four kids, it really is a relief when you don't have to bundle the kids up for even a quick trip in the car.
This past weekend, we wanted to take a ride on Easter Sunday and that's when the chaos started.
What's That Smell In My Car?
For the last few weeks, I have been smelling some sort of wet dog type of smell. It was as if one of the kids spilled milk in the car and it had spoiled. One theory was that it was MY feet?

We settled on the though that the floor mats were just wet and nasty from the winter salt and melting snow. Trying to dry them out, I took out the floor covers that we had hoping the dry air and warm sun would kill off the smell.
Why Won't My New Car Start?
This is where our problem started. After a few hours, we decided to take the kids for a quick ride to the park to enjoy Easter afternoon together. The car is only a couple of years old and I have NEVER had a problem. In fact, I have never had a problem like this with any car or truck that I have owned.
Never Do This To A Newer Car
I guess I learned a lesson the hard way and was a little embarrassed when I noticed that when I put the floor mats back in, I covered the accelerator pedal and pushed it to the floor! The newer cars apparently don't like that and won't start if in that position!

Thankfully, we were able to laugh it off and enjoy the rest of our day!
