The number of league-wide cases over the last two days is through the roof as there are more than half as many positives revealed,  as were reported during the league's first few months of play in 2021.  According to Kevin Seifert of ESPN, there were 62 positive player tests.

Monday had the highest single-day number of cases (37) since COVID began.  And all of these new COVID cases are not only wreaking havoc with teams rosters, but they are also starting to affect this weekend's schedule.

First, Josina Anderson reported that the Las Vegas Raiders/Cleveland Browns game which was part of the league's Saturday Double-Header was being moved to Monday.

Then, the news that the Los Angeles Rams, who have 25 players currently in COVID-19 protocol, game versus the Seattle Seahawks was being moved to Tuesday, December 21st.

Next up, The Philadelphia Eagles/Washington Football Team game that was scheduled for Sunday, is now being moved to Tuesday.

If you recall, as we got to the end of the NFL season last year, the same thing happened, and we wound up having NFL Football on TV 5 days a week.

Could the same thing happen to the Buffalo Bills?  Well, as of now The Carolina Panthers have one player, Running Back Christian McCaffery in COVID Protocol, and he is on season-ending Injured Reserve.  The Bills, have two players currently in COVID protocol.  Linebacker Tyrel Dodson, and starting Left Tackle Dion Dawkins, who tested positive for the virus for a second time this week.

So, compared to the rest of the teams in the league, the two teams taking the field this Sunday at Highmark Stadium are in pretty good shape.
