Could The Bills Move Training Camp Out of State?
NFL training camps begin in July and there have been questions about what teams will do with the COVID-19 pandemic? Could teams move training camps out of their home state?
According to WGRZ, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports that a number of Northeast-based NFL teams are considering moving training camp out of state, where there are less COVID-19 restrictions.
However, the Bills have not yet considered that, according to WGRZ.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was asked whether or not the Bills could start training camp on time and he said, "ask me in June."
The NFL has asked teams to come up with plans on restrictions when teams reopen facilities for off-season workouts on a limited basis, and those plans are due by Friday, May 15th.
There are also questions whether or not the NFL will have full stadiums this upcoming season and that includes New Era Field. Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said recently that he doubts New Era Field will have a packed stadium this season.
If the Bills have to move training camp out of state it would be a blow to fans in Western New York. Many fans attend practices every year at St. John Fisher in Rochester. Hopefully the season goes on as planned but fan reductions in attendance will take getting used to.
