• First Snow of Season

    Didn’t see any of it here in the metro area, but the snow was on the ground yesterday and last night in the higher elevations of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Allegany and southern Erie Counties. The towns of Freedom, Pike, Sardinia, Ashford and even the hills at Holiday Valley all had snow on the ground.

  • Elderly Man Located

    An elderly man who’d been missing since Wednesday night has been located in Pennsylvania. 80-year old Robert Stevens drove off in his blue Volkswagen and apparently lost his way. He’s ok.

  • Vehicle Strikes Pizzeria

    It seems only the time of day and the location changes. Otherwise it’s pretty routine these days around here. Last night a car crashed into the front of Sugo Pizzeria on Harlem Road in Cheektowaga. The building needs repairs but remains open.

  • Rapper Takes Plea Deal

    Rapper Big Shawn has taken a plea deal after being accused of sexually abusing a 17-year old girl during a concert last summer at Artpark. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful imprisonment and paid a $750 fine. The victim agreed to the plea deal but the rapper denied there was any sexual contact.

  • Cessna Makes Emergency Landing

    It was a small Cessna that landed safely at Buffalo Niagara airport yesterday morning after the pilot reported there was a problem. The plane had just taken off from the airport just a few minutes before when t he pilot decided to return.

  • Metal Detectors At NFL Games

    In addition to patdowns, security at NFL games will be begin using metal detectors. Fans, media and other workers all will be subject to the screenings and you’ll begin to see those metal detectors in the coming weeks. This Sunday’s Bills game will be locally televised.

  • Boil Water Advisory At Mobile Home Park

    Residents in the Brook Gardens mobile home park in Hamburg remain under a boil water advisory after a series of water main breaks left them without running water for several days. The water line has been fixed, but until they get the ok from the Erie County Health department drinking water should be boiled before it’s used.

  • Sabres Win First Game At Home

    Finally, the Sabres sent the fans home happy. On their third try the Sabres won a home game knocking off Columbus 4 to 2 last night scoring a pair of power play goals along the way. Jason Pominville scored twice, Patrick Kaleta scoring the game winner and Brad Boyes chipping in his second of the season. Jonas Enroth got the start in goal and stopped 41 shots. The Sabres continue their homestand tomorrow night against Florida.
