• Inmate at Holding Center Commits Suicide, Two More Vehicles Strike Buildings,

    An inmate at the Erie County Holding Center has committed suicide. 36-year old Trevell Walker was found by a deputy just after noon. He’d been in jail since December charged in the stabbing death of his wife. He did leave a suicide note.

    It’s crazy. It keeps happening over and over again. Two more vehicles crashing into buildings – two of them yesterday in Cheektowaga. The first at Walgreen’s at George Urban and Dick Road. The second about an hour later at the M & T Bank in the Thruway Plaza. No injuries.

  • Woman Gets Probation For Interfering With Son's Rescue

    A Tonawanda woman was given three years probation for interfering with the rescue of her disabled son when he began choking in a Niagara Falls Blvd. restaurant back in June. 68-year old Rolaine Foigelman allegedly told restaurant workers to let him die when they went to call for medical help. Her 43-year old son is now living in an assisted living facility.

    A man wanted for murder in Massachusetts was arrested at the Rainbow Bridge. Customs officers turned him over to Niagara Falls police where he’s being held until he can be transported to Massachusetts.

  • Pesticide Causes Evacuation in Batavia

    Several homes were evacuated and families in nearly 300 others were advised after a pesticide made some people sick yesterday in Batavia. Atmospheric conditions and some humidity kept the pesticide fumes low to the ground and drifted in the direction of the homes causing watering eyes and breathing problems. The alert was lifted 3 hours later when the fumes thinned out.
