Most football fans know the story of Damar Hamlin and how he literally died for a period of time on the field during a Monday Night Football game. It was nothing short of a miracle that he was able to be brought back the way that he was. Now, he's hoping to give back and help others.

Damar Hamlin's resurrection story

For those who aren't football fans, there's a chance you've still heard the name Damar Hamlin. He's the Buffalo Bills football player who suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was the quick work of the medical staff on the field that day, and the brilliant doctors and nurses at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center that brought him back to us. After suffering what they call Commotio Cordis, which is when a blunt force to the chest causes a lethal heart rhythm disturbance, they went to work to perform CPR on him.

Somehow, beyond what most people believed to be possible, he lived and vowed to bring as much good to the world as he could.

Hamlin hosts world record-setting CPR event

This past weekend, Hamlin returned to his hometown of Pittsburgh during the NFL Draft to host a special CPR training event. He was hoping to set a new world record for the "most people trained in CPR in an hour," and he did it. He was able to get almost 1,300 people trained to secure that record.

Huge congrats to Damar and everyone involved in breaking the world record, and also helping to make the world a safer place.
