JUST IN: Buffalo Bills Finally Get Important Player Back
The Buffalo Bills will practice one more time this week (today), before they play the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
Kickoff in Orchard Park will be at 1 pm. It's the first 1 pm kickoff for the Bills since their first game vs. the Patriots back in week 7. It's the first 1 pm kickoff at home since week 4 vs. Miami.
The Bills control their own playoff destiny. They win these final two games, they're in. If they win these next two games and the Dolphins lose this Sunday vs. Baltimore, the Bills will also win the AFC East. They could be the number 2, 6 or 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture; they hold an 89 percent chance to make the postseason as it stands today, according to the NY Times.
The Bills will finally get an important player on defense back this Sunday.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced on Friday that defensive tackle DaQuan Jones will be active for this game against the Patriots.
Jones hasn't played since he was hurt on the first series against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London (week 5). Before that, he was playing at an elite level. Him and Ed Oliver were both great on the defensive line.
The Bills did not have either Jones or Oliver in their first game vs. the Patriots in week 7. They also didn't have Matt Milano or Tre'Davious White. That ended up being the Bills' worst game of the season on defense.
Jones is probably the most underrated player on the Bills' roster. They need him in the run defense and he helps free up guys like Oliver and the linebackers.
Sean McDermott also added that Micah Hyde will likely return this Sunday. He’s missed the last few games with a neck stinger.
