Do You Know The Difference Between HDL, LDL, And Triglycerides?
While many people are thinking about candy hearts today, it's a good idea to also remember your own heart and keep it healthy.A few years back I had a conversation with my doctor that I thought I wouldn't have until I was much older.
"You have high cholesterol and it's pretty dangerous if you don't get a handle on it."
Yeah...it was a scary conversation to have when you're in your early 30s. It's even scarier to know that it was a heart attack that finally took my dad from me. I don't want to be that guy.
The good news is that cholesterol can sometimes be adjusted with diet and exercise. There are certain foods you can eat to increase the good cholesterol and others to avoid to decrease the bad cholesterol. For the most part, you want to stay away from fatty foods and food high in sugar.
So what's the difference? ECMC just tweeted out a great picture to help distinguish between the two types of cholesterol and triglycerides.
