The New York State Police are reminding people to pay attention and follow the speed limit as the busy summer begins. Not to mention, the Move Over Law in New York State and what to do in a work zone.

Recently, the New York State Police reported catching a driver who was going more than 35 miles per hour OVER the speed limit.

While there is not a legitimate reason for going that fast, the driver in this case thought they had one.

The summer of 2024 is here and across New York State we are dealing with a week long heatwave that has made it tough to breath and enjoy the outdoors. But as summer arrives, so does the busy road trip season for drivers and families across the Empire State.

Not only is summer a busy travel season on the roads and in the skies, but more people are walking and biking than ever and the need to pay attention is greater at this time of the year.

Among the things to remember when you drive is that you have to wear a seat belt. In fact, the New York State Troopers have stepped up their efforts to watch for people driving without wearing one.

According to reports, Troopers say there were over 112,000 tickets issued between May 20th and June 2nd and more than 15,000 of them were for improper seat belt use and child restraint violations.
