
New “Responsibility” Warning From New York State
As we get ready to celebrate America's independence and the freedoms that we enjoy, New York State has issued an alert and warning that may affect the outdoor party you have planned.
The weather looks great for much of New York State as we approach this Thursday. There are some things you want for a happy Fourth of July celebration; hot weather and cold drinks! So far, Mother Nature seems to be offering at least one of those.
But if you enjoy a good campfire at the end of the day, be sure to know the law and the guidelines set forth by New York State.
June is coming to a close, and the summer is in full swing! The sound of kids playing fills the playgrounds and the smell of wood smoke lingers in the air most of the day. Whether it is a grill on a campfire early in the morning, or a larger bonfire in the early evening, the wood you choose to burn needs to be properly transported and cared for.
In a post on "X", formerly Twitter, The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation reminded residents about the "50 Mile Law" that is in place.
This is going to be a fun week! Perhaps you have decided to extend the Holiday and make it a four day weekend? There is a good chance that this Friday, July 5th, will be one of the least productive days of the summer, if not the entire year!
