It was such an honor to be part of the beginning of the 2017 Laps for Limbs event presented by the Student Veterans at D'Youville College this past April! The final tally for donations are in and it's another success!

A majority of the students at D'Youville either have served in the military or are currently active or have a spouse that is.

According to their Facebook page,

The Office of Veterans Affairs aims to serve those who have so selflessly served our nation as members of the armed forces. While recruitment and retention of veteran students are important goals, the Office of Veterans Affairs primarily focuses on ensuring the success of students.....The final counts are still in progress, but we are happy to announce that the beneficiaries of the 6th Annual Laps for Limbs WNY will each be receiving approximately $10,000!!!

It was truly inspirational and a great memory to be a part of the first appearance of the Traveling Wall in to the City of Buffalo. It had been in Western New York prior to this. However, this was a first within the city limits and the location. The hard work of the students, staff and volunteers paid off in the effort to raise funds for a great cause.

Dale, Liz and I were able to do a full morning show broadcast from Front Park on the Friday morning of the big weekend and spoke with a few of the students that were organizing the weekend.

One of the main attractions was the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial and combined with the Laps for Limbs event, the students were able to raise over $40,000!
