While nobody ever expects a medical emergency to happen to you, your family, or friends, if it does you would want a top-of-the-line facility ready and able to provide the care you need. As WNY's only Level 1 Trauma Center, ECMC is the only place in Western New York that can handle any kind of problem including severe injuries04 and trauma.
ECMC has also been on the frontline in Western New York's battle against COVID-19. Since the pandemic started ECMC has continued to treat those injured and traumatic injuries in the emergency department, but also is taking care of patients who were coming in with complications from COVID-19
