Bad News For The Buffalo Bills As They Prepare For The Jets
Yesterday we got the bad news that Ed Oliver was on the injury list for the Bills this week. Today, it got a little worse.
The Bills seemed to make it through their first game pretty much injury free last Sunday night. It was almost as much of a win as the scoreboard. However, it appears as though the practice week went as smoothly as the game.
Ed Oliver will be OUT against the New York Jets
The injury report for the upcoming week has not been released yet, however, in an interview today, Coach Sean McDermott announced that Ed Oliver will be out for the game against the Jets this Sunday in New Jersey.
He said that Oliver was stepped on at practice and they will have to see where it will go for the next week.
Oliver was phenomenal in week one
It would be hard to find a defensive player who had a better week against the Ravens than Ed Oliver. Not only did he have multiple solo tackles, a sack, and he also had the forced fumble that changed the momentum for the Bills near the end of the game.
He will be missed against the Jets
Losing one of your star defensive tackles before the Jets game will be tough for the Bills. Certainly, stopping the run will be a focus, but also putting pressure on Justin Fields will be keys to the game.
Other players who were limited before week 2 included:
- Taron Johnson - quad
- Tre'Davious White - groin
- Greg Rousseau - knee
- Dawson Knox - hip
- Shaq Thompson - hamstring/hand
- Jordan Hancock - shoulder
