Tonight at 6 p.m. you'll see many emergency vehicles and crews in action at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, but this time -- it's just a drill.

The airport posted the following message on their Facebook page:

On Friday, September 27, starting at 6PM, we will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise designed to ensure coordinated, timely and effective response and recovery in the event of an aviation emergency. The exercise is required by the FAA every three years.

The exercise will take place in and around the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Fire Department facility and will involve a realistic mock incident.

There will be significant law enforcement, fire and emergency services present at this time. Because of the sensitive nature of the activities, we want to be sure the public is aware that this is not a real accident or crisis situation.
