It has to be one of the best parts about living here in Western New York. The changing of the seasons. I for one am a fan of Fall. Or Autumn as some call it. It arrives every year on September 23rd and will be here tomorrow at 5:04am.Here is a list of my favorite things to do after the Autmunal Equinox.

#5 Haunted Hayride

I try to go on at least one of these every year. Haunted hayrides or just a good old fashioned hayride, are one of the best things to do in the fall. Whether it's picking apples or getting scared beyond belief, hayrides are the perfect way for the family to enjoy a fall day/evening.

#4 Raking Leaves

Yes. Sounds crazy but there is something relaxing about being outside on a crisp day raking leaves into piles. It is like a from of therapy for me.

#3 Pumpkin Picking/Carving

What kid didn't grow up dreaming of finding the biggest and best pumpkin in the patch? Since I have grown up I have still enjoyed that part of fall when you can find the best one and carve some creation out of it. Besides, I am a huge fan of any food, coffee etc...that is pumpkin spice. Delicious!!

#2 Football Season

I may not be the biggest Bills fan in Buffalo. But, I love this time of tear. There is always a party on the weekends and you can't beat the way this community rally's behind our teams. High school football is also underway and one of my fondest childhood memories was going with my dad to watch West Seneca East play on Saturday afternoons. My dad was one of the teachers that "chaperoned" the games so we went to just about every home game and even went to the Ralph (it was Rich Stadium then) to watch them play!

#1 Hunting Season

Without a doubt the BEST part of fall. It isn't the killing of animals that gets us outdoor enthusiasts so jacked up this time of year. It's being outside. It's watching the season of Fall unfold and morph Mother Nature into her "Winter" attire.True, I love the thrill of waiting on and watching for Whitetail Deer or Pheasants or Ducks to come my way in anticipation of scoring the biggest and best that I can. But hunting to me means gathering with my friends and enjoy time together at camp and swapping stories.
