Famous Holiday Train Passing Through 7 Cities In New York
The holidays are coming, and nothing goes better with Christmas than an illuminated holiday train.
Looking for a cool way to celebrate the holidays this year and get yourself into the holiday spirit? You need to check out this holiday train as it makes its way through New York State and into Canada. It's called the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train and it's been making the trip since 1999.
The whole purpose of the Canadia Pacific Holiday Train (or CPHT as they're calling it now) is to spread holiday cheer and raise money, food, and awareness for people struggling with food insecurity. They decorate the train in full holiday lights (so you'll want to see it at night) and when it makes a stop they bring out a full band to sing holiday songs and get people pumped up for Christmas!
The events are free, but they do encourage people to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation to ease hunger needs in their community.
As the train pulls to its stop, a stage will lower and a band will come out to play music for the crowd. In New York, those bands will include the James Barker Band and Clerel.
The train will travel up the eastern border of New York state and stop at the following cities in two days:
November 25th
Menands, New York from 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm (Ganser Smith Memorial Park, Menand Road, Menands, New York)
Mechanicville, New York from 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm (300 Park Avenue, Mechanicville, New York)
Saratoga Springs, NY from 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm (Amtrak Station, Saratoga Springs, New York)
November 26th
Ft. Edward, NY from 2:15 pm - 2:45 pm (Amtrak Station, Ft. Edward, New York)
Port Henry, New York from 5:10 pm - 5:35 pm (Amtrak Station, Port Henry, New York)
Plattsburgh, NY from 7:20 pm - 7:50 pm (Amtrak Station, Plattsburgh, New York)
Rouses Point Junction, New York from 9:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Pratt Street, Rouses Point, New York)
Whether you'll be in the area, or take a road trip to see it, this lit-up train will be the highlight of your holiday season!
