Four Starters Ruled Out For Bills Against Houston On Sunday
Injuries have been rampant for the Bills this year. Sean McDermott has ruled out four starters as the Bills head to Houston.
The theme for today's press conference with Coach Sean McDermott was that they are going to need some young players to step up.
Once again, the Bills are dealing with injury concerns as they head to Houston to take on the Texans this Sunday afternoon. We already know that the Bills defense is thin. They've been playing with backup linebackers since week 2, and now they're going to need to rotate someone in on the defensive line too. Ed Oliver has been ruled out for week 5. He didn't appear to have anything major coming out of the game in Baltimore but during the Thursday practice he needed treatment on his hamstring. Today Coach McDermott ruled him out.
Austin Johnson will be out with an oblique injury. Add those injuries to the loss of Milano and Bernard in the middle, Taylor Rapp is out as he is in concussion protocol, Von Miller will be out with his suspension and the Bills are going to need someone to step up big time.
The injuries don't stop there, however. The Bills will also be without Khalil Shakir this week who injured his ankle during the game last week. He was able to come out for a few plays to get it rewrapped and then finished the game. But he has been ruled out this week in Houston also.
If you're looking for some good news, nickel corner Taron Johnson and Terrel Bernard are both practicing today (Friday) and will be listed as questionable for this Sunday. That's a step up from where they both were last week.
