Tomorrow is Christmas Eve.  Quite a few people will probably be wearing red.  George Strait will be one of them.  But he will be wearing it for a different reason.  George will be wearing red to support our troops.

It's a movement called Red Shirt Fridays and George Strait is on board.  The mission of  redshirtfridays.org  is to show support for our servicemen and women.  They want them to know that we support their sacrifice and we will not forget them and we will do this by wearing red on every Friday.

George Strait fans may know that he served in The Army and he wanted to join the efforts to bring awareness.

“The holidays are a time to be with your family and friends and to be thankful and I can’t think of a better gift to the women and men serving our country than to show them how much we appreciate them and are thinking about them. It’s a small gesture but together it does make a difference especially for those who can’t be here with us.  Starting this Friday we are going to wear red shirts to every Friday's tour date and we encourage the fans to do the same,' exclaims Strait. 'I want to see a building full of red shirts if possible.”

So this Christmas Eve, wear red for two reasons.  Wear it to celebrate Christmas and also to remember our troops serving all over the world.
