Historic Restaurant In East Aurora, New York Closing?

While there has been no official word from the owners, there was a lot of discussion on Facebook this week about the future of the Globe in East Aurora.

Friday morning, patrons told WYRK that they received an email from the owner confirming the news.

One of the most unique and popular villages in all of New York State is just outside of Buffalo. East Aurora, New York is arguably the most popular village in all of Western New York. Over the last few years, East Aurora has become the trendiest and friendliest village that families have flocked to.

Real estate prices in East Aurora the last couple of years have soared! Some people reportedly paid more than $30,000 over the asking price for their homes!

But there is some sad news for those in East Aurora this week. A popular landmark restaurant is reportedly closing at the end of this year. While there has been no official word from the owners, there was a lot of discussion on Facebook this week about the future of the Globe in East Aurora.

This is very sad to have read. I grew up in East Aurora and my very first date that I ever went on was at the Globe! It was the dinner before our homecoming dance and I remember it like it was yesterday! My mom and dad ate and had drinks there just about once a week and it was a standard for our family fish fries in lent.

East Aurora is still home to me even though I now reside in Hamburg, New York. My father would always say that East Aurora is paradise and it's own little bubble. Although the village is very popular these days, in many ways it still is very unique!
