For many people, the birth of a new baby is a time of great joy and excitement.  It's a new life being added to the family.  So it may not be easy to understand what a new mom going through postpartum depression is going through.  Gwyneth Paltrow understands all too well how it feels.

According to Google Health Postpartum Depression can be defined as:

Moderate to severe depression in a woman after she has given birth. It may occur soon after delivery or up to a year later. Most of the time, it occurs within the first 4 weeks after delivery.

It's a disease that many women experience with child birth.  Gwyneth Paltrow experienced it with her second child Moses.  She recently opened up about it in the February issue of "Good Housekeeping."
