Just like that, we only have one week left in the month of October. It's that time of year that the weather really starts to change for the worse, as long as you aren't a fan of cold temperatures.

We'll have to wait on the cold weather for a few extra days. 70-dgree temperatures are forecasted for most of New York State through Friday, with some spots even reaching 75 degrees by midweek. It's certainly a departure from the 45-50 degree highs we saw on Saturday and Sunday.

That warmth will be long gone by this upcoming weekend. The weekend will dip to the 50's and an arctic blast will be here by next Monday. That's just in time for Halloween and trick-or-treating.

The Weather Channel forecasts highs only in the low-to-mid 40's for Halloween from Western New York to Central and Upstate New York. In fact, snow and 20-degree wind chills will be very possible on October 31st.

Brian Donegan says snow showers and wind chills below 30 degrees are forecasted for Central New York this Halloween.

This is because of arctic air blasting down from Canada next Monday through Wednesday. It will bring colder than normal temperatures for Halloween, which is typically chilly, but not this cold. It's rare to see snow on Halloween night but that's what we could be getting this year for trick-or-treating.

November will likely bring more chances for snow showers, with the possibility of lake effect snow. It remains to be seen if that does happen...and when it happens.
