There is a large project underway that affects thousands of drivers each week in Hamburg and Blasdell.

A portion of McKinley Parkway has been torn up for drainage and paving repair. This is a welcomed project for those of us who travel the stretch between Southwestern Blvd and Milestrip Rd. If you shop the Wegmans on McKinley Parkway, expect delays as the next phase of construction is about to begin.

According to the signs posted along McKinley Parkway, the milling of the road will begin on Monday, June 15th at 7am. There may be aditional lane restrictions as the pavement is churned up and ready for a new, smooth surface.

Roadwork In Hamburg

The road has been in rough shape for a few years and those who drive that stretch will no doubt be glad they will have two lanes to use as opposed to using just the left lane to avoid the bumps and ruts on the right.
