I realize that all good things come to an end. The new season of Two And A Half Men has begun with Ashton Kutcher leading the way in place of Charlie Sheen. In my opinion, it doesn't even come close to being what it used to be.Charlie Sheen blew it for himself when he went out of control and thought that his antics would go unnoticed, criticized or without consequence. Clearly it did not. In his defense, the star of the show was modeled exactly like the guy he is in real life. The show was funny. I mean laugh out loud funny. even now when I watch reruns I find myself laughing even though I know the punchlines. Perhaps it's my view of the world? My age and gender? But, the show with Charlie Sheen was one of the funniest shows ever to be on TV.

Sheen may have gotten away with disrespecting the writers, producers and even co-stars. He may have gotten away with the drinking and partying and rock star image. However, things took a professionally fatal turn when his kids and family got involved. He should have ended the act when it got to that point and man up and apologize to them at the very least.

I gave the new season a couple shows and so far am not impressed. Most importantly, I am not laughing. Nothing against Ashton Kutcher. He seems like he is trying and Jon Cryer is trying way too hard. I would guess that the writers have made it that way. Allan (Jon Cryer) was funny in doses as a counter to Charlie. Even Burda was funnier with Sheen. Their roles were defined and the characters were cast perfectly. The funniest part of the first two shows this season was the funeral scene. It was the show I remembered. Funny and yes perhaps a little crass, but it wasn't forced or uncomfortable.

I get that Ashton Kutcher is good looking. But, the show before wasn't written with the idea that women would be watching for a sexy young thing. Is his shirt going to come off every show? That's not a sit-com, that's Baywatch.  It seems as though the whole main structure of the show has changed.True, nothing stays the same. But, I think what made the old version awesome was that in some way we all wanted to be Charlie. Say or do what we want and have the money and swagger that comes along with it. No it  wasn't morally correct. It was one of those shows that had you watching simply because you were wondering what off the wall comment or situation was gonna happen next.

Even Charlie had moments in which he seemed like a grown up. The Walden character is simply as childish and empty as the real Ashton Kutcher. I feel like they had teenage groupies in mind when they wrote this. This show has started out very poorly.I doubt in the future I would ever watch the reruns!
