It's cuffin' season! now that summer is over, it's time to find somebody to keep you warm during these frigid Western New York winters. Of course that means you'll need to go on a few dates - whether it's with the same person or you're trying out a few members for the team. I put together a list of some not-so-ordinary date ideas. The same ole, same ole is boring and who has time for that!

LuxNic Luxury Picnics
When I saw this company on Instagram I was like, "Wow, that's such a unique idea!" LuxNic offers various packages, where they will set up a picnic for you at your chosen location. I think this is perfect for men, who want to do something special for their ladies. How sweet would it be to have a picnic as a first date. It's something different and more intimate than just going out to a restaurant. And now that COVID-19 cases are on the rise because of the Delta variant, it seems like a safer option than going to a crowded restaurant. There are different packages from which you can choose. The minimum is $150 and it goes up from there. Summer in Buffalo is the perfect time to have a picnic. Get out and enjoy the nice weather while we have it. You can check out LuxNic's Instagram page here.

Buffalo Bike Tours Wing Ride
For this one, you'll need to get in before it really starts getting cold. Not only does Buffalo Bike Tours offer a wing ride, where you can enjoy delicious wings, Marc Moscato, the owner, is a great champion of Black history and John Young, the original Wing King of Buffalo. While we have been restricted due to COVID-19, Buffalo Bike Tours has been doing pop up events with John Young's daughter, giving people a chance to try his famous Mumbo sauce. The wing ride gives you a really unique dining experience. You and your date will get to enjoy amazing wings in Buffalo and get to tour the city.

Buffalo Urban Air Adventure Park
Urban Air Adventure Park at Walden Galleria offers go-karts, trampolines, climbing walls, rope courses, mini-golf, dodgeball and other fun activities. It's definitely a "fun date central" type of place for active adults. You can visit Urban Air Adventure's website to get more info.

Axe Throwing
There are several axe throwing spots in Buffalo. You can unleash your inner Paul Bunyan at these places. Get primal baby, throw an axe and see if it sticks. Now, I've never been, but I have seen people do it many times on television, and it looks quite satisfying, especially when people have been stressing you out. If you're planning a date and want to do something different or maybe it's a girls' or guys' night out. Whenever you're looking for something unique to do in Buffalo, consider axe throwing at one of these places. You can check out the different spots here.

Buffalo Heritage Carousel
The Buffalo Heritage Carousel officially opened on Friday, May 28, 2021. The carousel is vintage. It's a restored De Angelis Carousel, according to a press release I received. The Buffalo Heritage Carousel is a custom-designed, vintage carousel, which was manufactured in 1924 by Spilllman Engineering in North Tonawanda.

Enclosed in a landmark building, a stunning home for this historic and rare carousel that is powered by the sun. The solar-powered Buffalo Heritage Carousel celebrates the history of carousel manufacturing in Western New York and our legacy of leadership in the use of renewable energy that began in 1901 with the transmission of hydro-electric power from Niagara Falls to Buffalo. ~ Buffalo Heritage Carousel

The carousel is open Fridays from 12 pm - 5 pm, with night hours until 7 pm weather if the weather is good, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 pm - 5 pm. It will be closed from September 13th to the 23rd for repairs, so don't plan a date there then. The Buffalo Heritage Carousel is located at One Marine Drive in Buffalo.
