How Does This Even Happen? Fish Freezes in Lake As It Eats Another Fish

This is wild! How does this even happen?

One guy had to go out with a chainsaw and chop this out to show everyone the sight. One fish went to go eat the other one, but somehow that moment was frozen in time (no pun intended).

The only thing I can think of is that the fish went to go eat the other one and died in the middle of it and they got stuck there and floated to the surface before it froze? Thoughts?
