Vince Gill turns 56 today! I don't know if there has ever been a more pure voice in country music than Vince's. Sure, Vince can sing an upbeat song like "Give Me One More Last Chance" to perfection. However, where Vince is truly the master is when he sings the ballads. "When I Call Your Name," "Pocket Full Of Gold" and "Whenever You Come Around" are just a few of my favorites.

I found this video of Vince Gill from back in 2007. He was on the golf course when he got the call to come to a day of prayer and healing service in remembrance of the victims of the shooting at Virginia Tech.

This is pure Vince. No frills, no Auto Tune for his voice and really no preparation. This is exactly why I think Vince Gill has the best voice in country music. Raw talent wins over synthetic enhancement anytime in my book.
