There are lots of dangerous places in New York State, but what about the safest cities? According to WalletHub, only one in NYS made the list of the top 10 for 2023.

Our data set ranges from traffic fatalities per capita and assaults per capita to the unemployment rate and the percentage of the population that is uninsured.

According to WalletHub's study, the safest city in America is Nashua, New Hampshire.

When it comes to New York cities on the list, only ONE made the top 10, top 20, or top 50, for that matter!

#8 - Yonkers Is New York's Safest City

Keep in mind, this WalletHub study looked at the most populated cities, so smaller towns don't apply here.

Yonkers is located in Westchester County and it sits above the Bronx. The population of Yonkers is 208,121 (as of the U.S. Census Bureau's 2022 estimate).
