Snowfall Totals In New York From Lake Effect Storms

Monday was a busy day for snowplow drivers and snow shovelers as parts of New York were impacted by Lake Effect snow storms.

In Western New York, a band of Lake Effect snow moved more north than expected and ended up wreaking havoc with the afternoon commute for many people who live just south of Buffalo.

Here is a look at the highest amount of lake effect snow that fell in less than 24 hours.

In upstate New York, they were bracing for anywhere between 8-12 inches of snow in some areas. The Lake Effect snow is still expected to continue today bringing several more inches of snow before the end of the day.
