A weather front is set to bring some unsettled weather across New York State as we wrap up the weekend.

Looking ahead to Sunday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service has issued severe weather alerts for much of New York.


This weather front will not only bring severe weather today but will also bring colder temperatures across the state as well. We are looking at high temperatures in 50s and 60s with the overnight lows dropping into the 30s.

Those low temperatures could lead to the first frost of the season for parts of New York.

The Old Farmer's Almanac recently put out their predicted dates for the first frost across New York State.

Here are the First Frost Dates for Fall predictions for New York State.

ALBANY - October 9th

BUFFALO - October 6th

BINGHAMTON - October 5th

NEW YORK CITY - November 14th

ROCHESTER - October 18th

SYRACUSE - October 11th

These predictions made by the Old Farmer's Almanac are based on historical climate data and are around 30% correct each year. That means the first frost could happen before or after these dates.
