If you watched last night's Sabres/Capitals game, you watched the NHL's fastest skater, and he was wearing a Buffalo Sabres sweater.

The Buffalo Sabres have been better this season than they've been in decades. There are a lot of reasons for that, but one of them is the young talent on this team that just want to win.

Last night one of the Sabres showed of his skating skills

The Sabres had their win streak snapped at 8 games last night after losing to the Washington Capitals at KeyBank Center in a tight game. But if you were watching, you may have noticed how fast the Sabres were. One player, in particular, clocked in with the fastest time on the ice since 2021.

Congrats to Beck Malenstyn, who clocked in at over 24 mph last night in the 3rd period.

It's even crazier to think that it's the second time this season that he's done it.

The Sabres are still in first place in the Atlantic Division

After last night's loss, the Sabres are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and, with 86 points, still sit in first place in the Atlantic Division for now. It's great news for Sabres fans who have stuck by this team waiting for the day that they'd turn it around and end the drought.

Barring a catastrophic losing streak to end the season, the end of the drought should be here this season. It's hard to imagine them not making it, but they'll need to finish strong to avoid another year added to the drought.

They'll be back on the ice at KeyBank Center Saturday night (3/14) to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7 pm.
