Jake Owen Records With ACM Lifting Lives Music Campers
The campers at the fourth annual ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp had nothing but smiles on their faces on Wednesday (June 26) when country star Jake Owen paid them a visit.
According to GAC, Owen popped by the campers' recording session where they recorded their original song 'Livin’ on Island Time,' which was written with Jerrod Niemann and Lance Miller. But, the fun didn't stop there. Recording with Owen was simply the start of a fantastic day.
Ther fun concluded with a smashing performance at the Grand Ole Opry with Niemann, singing the song they recorded with Owen, which took place last night (June 28).
This very special residential program, which is part of the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives initiative and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities allows musically inclined individuals with developmental disabilities to really shine. It has the dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome while providing music enrichment through performance and education.
Last year, country singers Luke Bryan, Big & Rich, Brett Eldredge and Jana Kramer took part in the festivities. It's always heartwarming to see big entertainment stars with even bigger parts participating in great causes like ACM Lifting Lives Camp.
This may be the first time the 'Anywhere With You' hitmaker has been at the camp, but he made a big impact in the kids' lives this week. As a new father, that probably means a whole lot to Owen.
