Two of the most popular gun raffles of the year will take place this Saturday!

With the recent news that gun raffles may be a thing of the past if Governor Cuomo gets his way, volunteer fire companies are at risk of losing a major portion of their fundraising dollars.

Jamison Road and North Java fire companies are hosting their annual gun raffles this Saturday. Jamison Road has sold out the tickets for their raffle. There are still tickets left (as of Wednesday morning) for the North Java raffle.

Jamison Road is asking for other companies who would like to attend as a way of showing support for these fundraisers to contact them. According to a post on the Jamsion Road Facebook:

NYS assembly has introduced a bill (A01413) which would prohibit us and other non-profit organizations from continuing to hosting our main fundraising event; gun raffles. These events are crucial in our ability to raise the required funds needed to provide life saving operations. Please join us in showing support for your local fire companies and against this destructive legislation.

-Any inquiries regarding this event should be directed to Brian Nolan Sr.
-Any fire companies wishing to bring apparatus, please PM Daryl Nolan for staging information.
